I’ve seen 3 posts and I still have no idea what happened and how Reddit solved the case
Is anyone else kind of confused about why “John” didn’t call the police in the first place? I assume he felt that he had no grounds to report anything since he saw no illegal actions by the man, only “strange” actions…but I wonder if he feels badly, like he could have stopped it from happening.

I’m shocked that the OP thought it was that odd. If I saw someone go to to the their car, then turn and leave I would’nt give it a second thought. Can anyone provide insight on why turning away from your car is so odd? Couldn’t the person have simply forgotten something and been going back for it?
